Mathematics.

Got from http://www.squarecirclez.com/blog/math-education-an-inconvenient-truth/694

Probably a new perspective of our maths education.

I have always thought of our mathematics as a very dead and perhaps even boring subject.

I have been “away” from maths (education) for quite a long time, but till now I can still vividly recall how I felt about it during secondary school days. More of Amaths. Partly due to memorable happy days, and partly due to the immense hatred and frustration caused by it. haha

I always asked myself why was I doing these sums. They seem totally illogical to me. They don’t even apply to my life. It’s like the setters purposely place their answer in the depths of hell for students to search for, making our lives difficult.

This is where JC peeps will come in and say “Wait till you try our JC maths! You won’t even know how you got killed!” lol. Yes, JC maths = killers. I’ve seen it.

But still, opinions always end up changing after comparison. After seeing the maths from their country. Instead of what I expected of being more-understandable-logical-applicable, they seem to be more-complicated-insensible-and-even-more-unapplicable. And they also seem to be a complete waste of time. Inefficient learning in other words.

Perhaps maths HAS to be learnt this way, the dead way, the best.
