Gooseberry
August 31, 2006
Much awful as ‘gooseberry’ sounds, it is as awful to be one too.
I had been bearing with it, and it rather unbearable now. lol. Its horribly boring. Especially when the couple(s) talk to each other, totally in their own world, then you will ask yourself, “why am I here in the first place?!” even if you had shouted it, they probably won’t even hear it.
Just when you got bored, you felt like sleeping, they would probably have run out of topics and turned to you. Spare me already..
Another better thing being a gooseberry. When the couple(s) would, of course, walk together you would obviously choose to walk along with other gooseberry-mates as well. Ah-ha! thats where they will run out of topic and take the gooseberries as topics.
One of the most common one is “woah, you two so close, like gay!” this one, I found it particularly insulting, I wasn’t even disturbing you.
Most of the time, its probably the guy who wanted to please the girl that he would joke about the gooseberries and keep their personal conversation more active and interesting. Just an assumption though. Cause nadira is one who likes to call other guys gay a lot. Not mentioning how funny to her it is to call others gays.
It isn’t a normal/good term to joke about others. And it is simply disgusting to be a gay, and its worst to be accused of it. Innocent people are, me, ridwan, hazmil and rui xiang(provided he felt insulted).
Just by today, me and rui xiang were called gays for several times, especially by nizam. And I must say, we weren’t even doing anything gayish for goodness sake!
JUST JOKE AROUND YOURSELVES YOU LOVING COUPLES! Dont fucking drag me into it, and don’t associate me with gays, cause I personally don’t like it.
I don’t feel like going tomorrow. Later kena called gay again. ccb..
But on the whole, its my fault la.. I shouldn’t have been the gooseberry in the first place right? Serves me right.

Ahh, finally voicing your opinion.
I guess you are the innocent one, just because they had partners. And yes, some guys do make fun of others to entertain girls.
And yes, you reminded me. Alison and I werent spared as well. So reading this post sparked me up.
So we get disturbed for going as a pair, calling us “couple” and taunting us by showing your “hand-holding stunts.” Thats one.
So when Yee Meng and Rui Xiang moves out, leaving time and space for you guys, they get labelled “gays.”
Tell me, how do you actually want us to be paired or grouped? 2 girls and 1 boy? 2 boys and 1 girl? Or 2 girls and 2 boys?

Sigh. Yes, we weren’t spared as well. ):
Maybe they just don’t understand. ): That’s sad, isn’t it? ):
To think we were allowing them to their own spaces and time, yet we get bombarded with these kinda “gratitude”. ):
same sentiments guys. (:

Hm. So thats how it always started.
No wonder everyone seems to have well rehearsed when they said that me and ridwan were gays, just because we were doing a maths together after school and didn’t join them . LOL!
Jokes really are meant to be funny.

aiyah. since we’re the innocent ones, i guess keeping mum would still be the best solution. : D

vincent here, using jon’s account.
sometimes passing a remark is really hurtful, yea. But to react to it is another.
I wasn’t involved in this matter, so I’ve nothing much to say. But, Alison has (rather) the best solution- to ignore.
let bygones be bygones, and peace will come!

hah. I dont agree with vincent and alison.
Keeping quiet is never the best solution. But people always think so..
ah, I am not blaming anyone here, as singaporeans are made to keep quiet.. Thats why, there are people like eg. mrbrown and lester to step up and talk. And they get kicked in the ass, everyone keeps quiet once again.

Woah. “kicked in the ass” huh.

“Just by today, me and rui xiang were called gays for several times, especially by nizam. And I must say, we weren’t even doing anything gayish for goodness sake!” – Yee Meng
fortunately salihin alwayz does gayish things , if not we would be accusing him for all the wrong reasons.

Joel- Oh. For salihin’s case, he deserves it! lol. He always open mouth only “you gay ah”.
Actually I don’t care if ppl call me gay, its like jokingly only… But I don’t like it when you relate me with another guy and imply that we are in a relationship. Gives me the creeps.
